Is this gambling?
A free draw or a genuine skill contest is not regulated as gambling in the way a bookmaker is. Paid prize draws sit in a neighbouring field, and plenty of people who use them also gamble. If spending has stopped feeling optional, treat that as the fact that matters, whatever the legal label says. The law page has the structure; the paying page has the caution.
How many should I enter a day?
As many as you can enter properly inside the time you chose. For a lot of people that is three to eight, not thirty. Volume does not help if the extras are invalid or resented.
Why have I not won yet?
Because most entries do not win. A quiet month is the ordinary month, especially if you have been entering famous prizes. Read realistic odds before you invent a personal curse.
Do I have to buy the product?
Only if you want the product, or if there is no free route and you have decided the paid route is worth it. Many UK promotions offer a no-purchase route for a reason. Use it when it exists.
Are winnings taxed?
For a private entrant, the prize itself usually is not. Interest you earn afterwards can be. The fuller, careful version is the tax page, and it is not personal advice.
Can I enter if I live outside the UK?
Only if that competition says so. A great many are UK-only, and some are Great Britain rather than the whole of the UK, or the other way round. The terms beat any assumption.
What is the best competition site?
The one you will still open next month, that links through to real terms. A comparison of the mood of tools, without a fake ranking of this week’s prizes, is on the tools page.
Should I join a group?
If it is kind and specific, it can make the wait less lonely. If it pushes tickets, leave. You do not need a group to enter a magazine competition.
A company says I won but I must pay a fee. Did I?
No. That is the shape of a scam. Do not pay. Details on the scams page.
Will this site tell me what to enter today?
The competitions page lists UK draws by closing date, and it refreshes through the month. These guides will not tell you that a particular form is a good idea. Use the list for today’s closing dates, and these pages for the judgement around them. The promoter’s terms still win if the two disagree.
